Dr. Dre called up to Power 106 in LA this morning and explained what had happened. The song leaked without his consent but since it has gotten a good response the label has agreed to push the single. Dr. Dre pointed out that the record is not a representation of what the album is about. That is the only song about smoking weed to be featured on the album. He explained that the album is almost done that he needs 2 or 3 more songs and expects to finish them within a month. So we can expect the album first thing next year. He says that he has worked with pretty much everyone that he has worked with before for Detox. As well as some new up and coming rappers from California.

mir ist egal was die erste single sein wird hauptsache es kommt iwann mal!!!! aber ich wette nächstes jahr sitzen wir wieder hier und fiebern voll das detox bald kommt. . . wie die letzten 8 jahre :S

Dr. Dre is moving forward with plans to shoot a music video for “Kush,” the first offering from his long-awaited album Detox featuring Snoop Dogg and Akon. Joseph Kahn previously hinted that he would direct.

It’s the story we’ve heard over and over again. But according to a press release today, Dr. Dre’s Detox is scheduled to be released February 2011. So far, guests include Eminem, Jay-Z, La Roux’s Elly Jackson and The Game. The project’s lead single “Kush” featuring Snoop Dogg and Akon will be available on iTunes November 21st.
